fact or fiction

Now, I’m not the mass media’s biggest fan. Let’s just get that out there first and foremost. But when something that is said can be verified and proven false what purpose does it truly serve to spout the lie to begin with? I’ve heard it said that a retraction or correction doesn’t carry the same weight as the initial falsity, which could be a reason. But if I discovered someone reported something provably wrong I would think twice before listening to them again.

A friend of mine saw two news reports.

The first said that in Obama’s State of the Union address he said the United States was Number One in terms of investments. And the piece went on to pull this apart, kind of mocking the idea. But if you do a little research… I mean, come on – the powers that be aren’t going to include a statement like that if it doesn’t have some basis in truth somewhere, are they? And, lo and behold, there’s a Foreign Direct Investment report issued by the consulting firm AT Kearney who state that for the first time since 2001 the USA are #1 to China at #2, with 2.09 to 2.02… if that means anything to you.

The second report said that Obama has made more executive orders that any other president in the last 30 years, if not all time. I don’t even remember exactly – but it certainly had him top of the list. And, again, this is easily checkable as they each have a number assigned. So, as per the link at http://www.archives.gov … the last 30 years…

Ronald Reagan (1981-1989)
EO’s 12287-12667 … 381

George Bush (1989-1993)
EO’s 12668-12833 … 166

William J. Clinton (1993-2001)
EO’s 12834-13197 … 364

George W. Bush (2001-2009)
EO’s 13198-13488 … 291

Barack Obama (2009-Present)
EO’s 13489 – 13655 … 167

Nuff said?

  1. In case you weren’t aware, News is subservient to the Entertainment division of a network, as they have been since the 80s. Even the 24-hour news channels are part of entertainment conglomerates. They don’t exist to be accurate. They are there to tell a good enough story so the audience will still be on that channel when the commercials come on.

  2. The news on it has been ridiculous. And people will believe what they want to believe, even when the truth comes out. It’s maddening.
