better denny zombie cover? Thoughts, please? 🙂 Advertisements Share this:FacebookEmailTwitterGoogleLike this:Like Loading... Color will attract more people to click on your book or pick it up. The darker theme with vibrant colors would be contrasting and interesting. In my humblest of opinions. Cheers. The tiles on this one appear smushed on my screen – could just be my screen, but they looked off to me. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply Thanks, Nicole. Yeah, I agree, too. Have added one with some colour. The clarity should improve when I update with a larger original text. But they were supposed to appear a little mushed, to be a little off/upsetting. 🙂 LikeLike Reply Better with a background filler? LikeLike Reply Well mission accomplished, I couldn’t put my finger on it before, but now that I know you were going for that :). I like the white background red letters best of the three. I like the cow and on the scooter, it would make me want to look through it more than this one. But if you do go with one of the ones up above, i’d go with the second one, and change the title and cover to one shade of blue and the catchphrase another color, and maybe make it plain text instead of the tiles. Again, imho. Hope it is of some help. Cheers LikeLike Reply That was me that posted that just a few seconds ago. Don’t know why it posted it as an anonymous post. LikeLike Reply Many thanks. It’s all helpful. 🙂 I like your doodle. Thank you. And I am still toying with the cow on the scooter idea, as I do like it, and it embraces the more whimsical side of the story. I just put together a probably darker version of the eyes one, and will add that to the post, just to be seen. Oh, and the tiles play a big part in the story, as they relate to two of the main characters, and will continue to do so through any subsequent books, otherwise I would probably use a normal font. Thanks again. 🙂 LikeLike Reply I looked at crosschatter’s bookcover sketch, Dave, and think it’s along the lines of something you might consider. The cow on the scooter, the tiles, both a big part of your novel. Whimsical–I think that’s the magic word here. Also liked the “youre grammars killing me” sidebar. Color will be a big factor also, I think…something bold and bright. I don’t see Denny as a “dark” character. Hope my thoughts are some small help. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply Always a help, thank you, Kathy. 🙂 And yes, I do still like the cow-on-scooter image, as it was my original idea – I simply didn’t have the drawing skills. And I think you’re right re Denny – like most of us, he has his dark moments, but he’s not dark, and the scary eyes probably mislead. I didn’t want potential readers thinking it was all fun and games, though, as there are serious (zombie- and reality-based) moments within. I will give it some more thought. 🙂 Many thanks. I may have to go with an “eyes” based cover if I can’t muster a decent enough scooter-cow image. May even use an i-stock type generic zombie image. Still up for grabs just now. 😉 LikeLiked by 1 person Reply You always come up with a great design. 🙂 LikeLike Reply Thanks. I’m not sure about any of these, though. Kinda working on something else, too. We shall see. 🙂 LikeLiked by 1 person Reply We shall see. 🙂 LikeLike Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply Enter your comment here...
