liebster award

liebster2

The Liebster Award exists only on the internet, and is given to bloggers by other bloggers. It pays tribute to new blogs, or blogs with a follower count of less than 1,000–including Twitter.

It follows similar principles to a chain letter, in that it should be passed forward to a certain number of deserving blogs. As Tom Benson (he who nominated she who nominated me) wrote, “It’s fun and does a marketing job for all who participate.” And, as my nominator, Kathy, wrote: The word “liebster” is German in origin and has several definitions, including but not limited to: dearest, sweetest, kindest, pleasant, endearing, lovely, cute, nicest, valued and welcome.

From me: while these awards are an honour, and wonderful to receive, not everyone wants to participate, so if you are one of those who don’t, that’s okay – you won’t have some hookily curse cast upon you. 🙂

But should you choose to accept…

The rules:

  1. Link back to the blog that nominated you. In my case: Kathy @ http://wktucker.com/
  2. Answer questions that your nominator has set their nominees.
  3. Share 11 random facts about yourself.
  4. Nominate 5-11 blogs that have less than 1,000 followers to receive this award.
  5. Create 11 questions for your nominees to answer.
  6. Contact your nominees and let them know you have nominated them.

  1. Thank you for nominating CATB! Also congratulations on your own award! Sadly, I must decline for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I am over the 1,000 mark of followers. When I include Twitter. Secondly I’m close to one year with CATB, which in social media is probably middle aged :-).

With that, I would ask that you give my spot to someone up and coming that deserves the recognition and could use the exposure. 🙂

    1. No worries re the nomination. I like your site. 🙂

And fair enough re declining, but I shan’t nominate another.

I didn’t bother to factor Twitter in to my thoughts, to be honest, as anyone can just sit there and pick up followers if they want (not saying you did that, just that it’s doable, and is partly why I pretty much ignored that aspect).

Plus, re the year, I’ve been blogging a few years, despite kicking things up a notch this year.

But thanks for the comment and the thought. 🙂

  2. Coffee is good, isn’t it? 😊 I think most writers are coffee people. Interesting answers to my questions, but I think the ones you put forth are better. You are a deep thinker, Dave.

    1. I do likes me coffee. Though I have had to tone it down a notch or two… I used to drink at least three big cups of strong black coffee every day… now I’m down to two almost-half-sized mugs that aren’t black so much as murky brown. But I tired of all the shakes. 🙂

As for being a deep thinker? Nah, I’m just drawn that way. 😉
